Personnel
The director of the laboratory is Professor Georgios Stavroulakis. The lab also collaborates with other faculty members from the Technical University of Crete as well as from other institutions.
Head of the laboratory is Dr. Pavlos Koulouridakis assisted by associate Dr. Roubini-Georgia Iordanidou.
George Stavroulakis
Specialty: Professor at the School of Production and Management Engineering, Department of Decision Science, in the field of Computational Engineering. Director of Computational Mechanics and Optimization Laboratory, Director of CAD Laboratory.
Education: Habilitation and venia legendi in Mechanics, Braunschweig University of Technology, Germany (2000), PhD, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1991). Diploma in Civil Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1985).
Research Interests: Simulation and optimization in engineering, Topological Optimization, Intelligent Materials and Structures, Auxetic Metamaterials, Modern distance learning methods.
Nikolaos Bilalis
Specialty: Professor at the School of Production and Management Engineering, Production Systems division, in the subject Computer Aided Design.
Education: PhD, Loughborough University of Technology, UK (1983). MSc Mechanical Engineering Design, Aston University of Birmingham, UK (1979). Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (1978).
